A Transcript of a Listening Prayer Session - Psalm 139

This last Wednesday (16 November 2022) we had quite a moving Listening Prayer time, were quite a number of us ended up in tears as we listened to the feedback on how God had spoken to each one during the 20 minutes of silence. A number in the meeting asked for a transcript of the session. Therefore we have taken the step to have the session transcribed so you can read first hand how each one shared. It also gives you a good understanding of how the listening prayer sessions are run.

Listening Prayer 16 November 2022 - Psalm 139

I'm very conscious that we've got a long passage this morning. But I tried to cut it down but whatever I did didn't work. So, I thought let's just do the whole thing. So, Father, thank You that we have a chance to have an encounter with you today. Lord, help us to quieten our hearts down to be in a place to receive from you. I keep having this picture of Ruth, who laid herself and Boaz’s feet. She positioned herself in a place to receive from him. So, Lord, today we position ourselves in a place to receive from you. Thank you Father, in Jesus name. Amen.

Okay, here we go. I'm conscious that this is the Psalm that many of you will know well. Let's look at it with fresh eyes this morning. So, speak Lord, for Your servants are listening.

Psalm 139 (NIV)

1 You have searched me, Lord,
    and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
    you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
    you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
    you, Lord, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before,
    and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
    and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
    the night will shine like the day,
    for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
    How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
    they would outnumber the grains of sand—
    when I awake, I am still with you.

19 If only you, God, would slay the wicked!
    Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty!
20 They speak of you with evil intent;
    your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, Lord,
    and abhor those who are in rebellion against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
    I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
    test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
    and lead me in the way everlasting.

Such a beautiful, beautiful Psalm.

When I was just going through this yesterday, the key verse that struck me was verse 17, “how precious to me are your thoughts God how vast is the sum of them.”

It's the question I'm just proposing to you guys to ask God about this morning: “God, share with me your thoughts about me.” There may be something else that God has for you, but let’s start there. That was just my suggestion that stood out to me as I was just seeking God about it.

Okay guys, welcome back. Jackie, normally you are last, but why don't I start with you first. It's really good because you're always on the end of my screen and I've to go the bottom.

Morning everybody. So, the thing that stood out to me was verse 16 and it said, all the days ordained for me were written in your book and I think that's powerful and you know, He is the Alpha and Omega. He's the beginning and the end. So, He's bookend, you know, like, I'm in the middle and it's just super amazing just to think about that. So, then he asked him, Lord, who do you say, who I am? And He said, you are the daughter of the most high king. You've been my name and my identity. You have my DNA. You are destined for fruitfulness and have my stamp of authority on everything you say and do therefore rav on me every day so I can lead you and guide you according to my perfect purpose. I am the way the truth and the lie. No man comes to the Father except if they need. Therefore, show them the way the truth and the lie through your life where you are the lie of the words and all praise and glory and honour and bring praise and glory and honor to my name through your life and very light you shine and by being that light, darkness will have to flee and they need to step it up by saying I was a couple of things do not underestimate the power of being my life, disruptive old patterns of not feeling good enough or being good enough for in me you have everything you need.

Yeah, the thing that struck me was Verse 1 and Verse 23. Search me know my heart. If I think I know my heart, really don't, Zinnia's God reveals his purpose is same. I wrote this down. My love toward you as always and embrace, always redemptive. My purpose for you is always good. I draw you to myself, so you become like me. My son, Jesus, He is your life, your transformation. I am always on the road you are on, and I want you your ways to be my ways. I want you to relate to me to be where I am. My presence is life. All those who do not know me do not know life. I need to despair of self-reliance and hopelessness for their destiny. I want everyone's destiny to the me.

You know, Stuart, whenever I listened to you I watch Verity’s face. It's so good because I guess she knows just what that's doing for you. “My love for you is always an embrace.” Isn't that incredible? My God just ministered to you so powerfully as you reflect on that. It's good. Melanie, let's go to US.

Thank you. For me, a God tells me particularly. God tells me that I need to tell him everything that I don't need to be shy. That it hurt sometimes that people get beaten up physically and then he says is because they don't share with him with everything in them. That even before something happened, that if I remember him, he is there for me. He protects me that he is the strongest force more than a human because he's a spirit that He loves me. Either means to be free, because I can handle everything because He is with me and Amen.

Yeah, I just struggled with what like God knitted in my mother's womb [Inaudible 38:48]. But he said he made me how he wanted to make me, and he didn't make a mistake and he has a purpose for me and so he made me accordingly and has guided my life accordingly and he knows my struggles and understand, and I was just a nice at God's protection you hear me behind and before and they your hand on me. Your hand will guide me your right hand will hold me fast and also the other thing was you discern my going out. He doesn't just see my going out. He discerns that. He understands it and then my prey searching and leaving...

Well, it was the fact that his thoughts are towards me. He knows everything. So, I just said, Okay, what does that mean? So, He said, when you make me your delight, my heart delights in you to know you want to come and spend time with me delights my heart or gladdens my heart. You see your lacks and failings, but I see growth and achievement. You see lost opportunities, but I see grit and perseverance. You see how far you still have to go. But I see how much ground you have gained. You'd regret the times you haven't spoken. But I see the times you reverence my name. Yes, I delight in you your singing. Even you say your wrong notes, but I hear a symphony. You shout and I hear victory. You come in quiet, and I hear you listening. You trust me and I celebrate. You come in and we reason together, and I delight in your new understanding. Yes, my thoughts of you are precious. So, what came across to me was I am seeing. I am not invisible. I am seeing and that meant a lot.

It delights, reminded me you get a phone call from one of your kids out of the blue and you have leaps. They want to talk to me. It's like the Lord saying that's how I feel. That's exactly how I feel.

I Love that. You make it sound to me. That sounds like the same for the to me. My wife always says I make a joyful noise to the Lord. I can tell it because it's the symphony. It's good. It's wonderful. Thank you so much, Kate. Rozanne let's go to our capital.

I was struck with by having difficulty seeing through the tears this morning. Kate, that's so yeah, you've been reading my mail. I think it's verse 10. Wherever I go, your hand will guide me. Your strength will empower me. It's impossible to disappear from you. Ought to ask the darkness to hide me. Your presence everywhere. Bringing light into my night. There is no such thing as darkness with you. The night to you is as bright as the day. There's no difference between the two and yes, from what I'm understanding in the living letters of her break mindset is that darkness is the perceived thing. It's called Kaushik and as Shane and Shane sang in that beautiful song. Darkness is a lie because to the Lord there's no such place as darkness and a times in that place of absolute aloneness where he takes us and he's been taking me down into the deeps, the deep waters there is that sense of why am I here? What do you want to show me Lord? And the deeper and darker it is and then it's like it's in a time bubble and He's redeeming lost dreams and hopes for His glory to cover, as the waters cover the sea, He is a time walker and He's been talking to me about redeeming time and I had a dream early this morning and it was another era, in fact, was about a man who was very prominent in the UK by the name of Colin Urquhart and he passed away last year. He was born in 1914 and the glory of the Lord would come in to his meetings and no one would be able to do a thing that would be just on their face before him and so I was asking the Lord, what is he saying to me this morning and he's saying that there are many who carry legacy of the glory and in the dream his son came to visit me and the Lord said this new generation is about receiving the glory legacy and releasing it into the waters as the knowledge of the God covers the sea and he said I will amplify it across the oceans of my law for the nation's and for this new generation. So, there's a lot there for me too.

It was like search me O God and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts and I'm going, okay God, what is your thought towards me? And He said, that you are a bounding face and I just need to stick him face or watch

Carol, He just, He ministers to you incredibly, isn't? He keeps revealing his hot tea which is just fantastic. That's fantastic. Verity let's get to you.

I struggled a little this morning but that's alright. I was hoping to the whole effect that was created and it was almost like I saw myself in my mother's womb. Just how He [Inaudible 49:48] as well from before that even happened. I was so overall I just happy because in the transform protocols, I'm just learning so much more and He formed a set of dust body breath in his spirit into us. How amazing is that? How much is that? He didn't make us like everything else and then He said for me to come to love, solid love Him and follow Him and He's been with me that whole time and see my name is truth and it reminded me and then He said, I'm formed before my glory. I've known you before, when it together in multiple choice and you've always been in my hands, and I always not be no one. I've always known you and I'm with and you're unworthy. You can trust me.

So good. I got, I've always been with you. You've never been on your own. So, throughout everything that happens that surely the darkness God really sets me. You've never been on your own. I've never left you. So, that was one part and when you write up the story this morning, you had that change the story in your mind and when I saw that this morning, that really hit me and as I read this guide said to me, change the story in your mind, see my outcome. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Stay in my presence. Don't go outside my presence and then I came to this, where it says you know, every word on my tongue before I speak it. I always thought, oh, gosh, that's all-silly things I say. But he said, I have words for you to speak words that will change lives. Come to me and  know what to say. So, and yeah, so it's just been, and it's been really that. Yeah, he's just changing. I have sort of been on my own for a long time and He sort of said I do want you to have someone so that's been a there's just something in that. That is a really lovely. I don't know, just something I love it.

Right. Well, I'm just listening to what everybody's saying and there isn't anything in particular that I'd say oh, yeah, God is speaking to me about in this, but just, you know, just the whole scripture was very, yeah, it was good to read it and I thought I'll just have to keep reading it just so that you know, it's it kind of registers. But it's very interesting to hear from you know from you know those who have spoken just how God is speaking to them and you know what's a reawakening but just what God is saying you know what God is saying to each person from the Scripture and just how much that you know He loves us and He's always with us in every step stage of our lives. He won't give up on us. He'll never do that. We just have to know keep trusting Him in all good and bad times and yeah, I can't really say anything more than this.

139, I actually somebody already told me meditate this every day and yesterday I was wanting to look at it but I didn't have a chance so looks like God left on it. The thing that highlighted to me like an open book. You watch me go from conception to birth all the states of my life were spread out before me the day of my life all prepare before I even leave one day and I just felt I'm struggling today. Okay mess is not a mess for me. One bad decision that does not make you there as. One mistake does not make no mistake. One delay does not make you deny. I never regret making having you. You are worth so much in my eyes. You are not a mistake. You are not accident. Like an open book like a green open field and blank this want to know me more, want to learn about me more wants to know what I like want to know to learn how to love me, specific to what. Your wonderful night for my wonder fun part. My wonder cannot be parted somewhere it brings me joy. You're going to make it all day of your life already prepare, you just need to work on each day. Watch how I plan your daily day and spend with me. So, don't abort the mission. Don't run away from it. Darkness is not that to me. So, hold on, as I'm immersing in my life, your story end with me, stand still and have faith to believe that your best day is in front of you. I will teach you how to throw the rock to all your giants that tell you otherwise that is not.

Father, we just give you thanks for how you've spoken to each one of us today. Father, thank you for the power of your personal word to us. Father, Lord, I just sense that you are stripping away years and years of hurt and pain and bitterness, Lord, and you're showing us how you see us at fresh. You're issuing an invitation to us to go deeper in the things of you. You're taking us on a deeper journey, and I pray that today as we keep reflecting, keep meditating on this word there our Lord, it doesn't matter what we do, our life brings joy to you. Father, thank You for the promises that you've given us today. Thank you. Thank you. Guide us, lead us, direct us in power. Well, I thank you for the freedom today. In Jesus name. Amen.

He said to me, I know what you're going through, reach out to me with the questions so I can bring the answers. It is a season of releasing the knowledge from heaven, that you need to do what I'm calling you to do.

It is a season of releasing the knowledge from heaven that you need to do what I've called you to do and it was fascinating. Yes, I was in this conversation with this lady in the US and I was talking about you notice there's all the days or day for me were written in your book. Just I have been pondering this thought books have been in heaven since the start. But we've only had books for a couple of years. What other things in heaven have been there since the start of time that God wants to release on earth now? Yes, I was just, I had that COVID. I've been pondering that a lot lately and he came over again in conversation yesterday that just struck me again, this is a God, you have so much more to release to us that we haven't stepped into yet and I want that.

And I just feel to say Rozanne's dream. There's something about her dream that God wants to impart, and I feel that for all of us, also for you with us feel like the fire of God is coming from heaven to release what he's just said to you about the releasing the knowledge in heaven. I feel it's something. I feel I'm burning. I just have to say, so.

We've got an awful lot going on at the moment and I'm juggling things on behind and some stuff and yesterday, I it was a real struggle as to what to do for today and I just felt God, You have to do this this morning. You have to do this, and you know, this is yours. Look what He's done. Look what He's done. To me, it doesn't matter what state we're in, where we're at, what we're doing, God just wants to unleash him to us and I posted on my Facebook page, just someone sent me a message by Andy Stanley was talking about rules before relationship before rules and it was just like, let's just blow this aside. I want relationship with you. I don't care about the rules. Yes, I want you to do that. I want relationship with you. So, he was also say, you know, stop putting your rules on to other people. Like you just bring them into a relationship with me. I'll take care of all that stuff. You know, focus on the relationship. That's what's happened. That's what God has done to us this one. So, very precious morning. Thank you.
